We have an opportunity for a motivated individual to fill the role of a Lead Electrician in Florida. In this position, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring optimal, efficient installation of the fleet of Budderfly electrical components, including HVAC installation related electrical work (high and low‑voltage), LED lighting, power metering, networking kits, and other upgrades. This is a Contract/Temporary role with an estimated length of assignment: 12 months with intent to hire.

Budderfly installs a variety of advanced technologies to save energy at our customers' sites. Ensuring that these technologies are installed according to code, efficiently, and without issue is vital to the success of the organization. This role is for a key player among the impactful team which is tasked with ensuring that these technologies are installed with the utmost quality while ensuring optimal customer satisfaction.
The successful candidate will complete on‑site electrical installation, service, and maintenance work as part of our Energy Force team.
- Conduct detailed site assessments to estimate the requirements for electrical upgrades for HVAC equipment installations and other energy savings technologies such as LED lighting and metering.
- Examples include surveying existing breaker and wire size versus those necessary for high‑efficiency HVAC unit replacements, CT and other power metering devices to measure all electrical usage on site, and LED lighting retrofits.
- Perform required electrical work for the installation of HVAC equipment (roof top units, split systems, etc.).
- Install metering equipment on commercial panels to monitor kWh usage on select equipment within the commercial setting.
- Utilize Budderfly work order and survey tools (training to be provided).
- Diagnose and repair (service call) electrical related issues with Budderfly technology.
- Ensure all installations and service calls are compliant with local code, meet industry standards, and conform to Budderfly quality guidelines, while performing work in a neat and methodical manner that minimizes impact on customer operations.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% (estimated) to various job sites across the southeastern United States (MS, GA, AL, LA, NC, SC).
- Provide excellent and timely customer service through phone, email, and chat.
- Ensure utmost customer satisfaction (internal and external to Budderfly) throughout the Budderfly and Energy Force work order systems.
- Work to improve customer satisfaction throughout the Energy Force installation and service process.
- Holds a Universal Electrical Contractors License in the state of Florida.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial electrical installations, services, and management.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, installation techniques, and relevant regulations.
- High‑level electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to lead a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations, protocols, and local and national codes.
