If so, we have the job for you! We are looking for a Metal Fabrication Field Foreman to work in the Lakeland/Central Florida area. Pay is $25 to $30 per hour depending on experience.
Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Metal Fabrication Field Foreman to oversee field installation and fabrication projects while leading crews to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of metal fabrication and structural steel installation, and the ability to coordinate field activities to meet project schedules and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and direct field crews on fabrication, installation, and repair projects on site.
- Coordinate daily work activities to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, structural drawings , weld symbols, field modifications, retrofits and project plans.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Monitor workmanship and quality standards throughout all phases of the project.
- Communicate frequently with on-site project managers and superintendents.
- Coordinate equipment, materials, and labor requirements with project management.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and job site inspections.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate crew members.
- Track material counts, labor hours and field change orders via digital construction software
- Communicate project progress, challenges, and resource needs to management.
- Resolve field issues and make sound decisions to maintain productivity and quality.
- Maintain accurate job documentation, including daily reports and time records.
- Coordinate with customers, subcontractors, and other trades as needed.
- 5+ years of experience in metal fabrication, structural steel, welding, rigging, or related construction trades.
- Must be certified in SMAW (stick), GMAW (Mig) and FCAW (Flux Core) welding
- 2+ years of supervisory or foreman experience.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication and installation techniques.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical job duties as required.
- Must be flexible in shift schedule to support project timelines, overtime and urgent field adjustments
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Welding certifications (AWS or equivalent).
- Experience operating forklifts, aerial lifts, scissor lifts, lulls, and other construction equipment.
- Knowledge of structural steel erection and layout.
