Position: Maintenance Mechanic II
Location: Lakeland Plant
Department: Maintenance
Pay: $32.07 to $39.70 per hour
Shift: 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM or 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM

As a Maintenance Mechanic II, you will help keep the Lakeland Plant operating safely and efficiently by performing advanced maintenance, complex troubleshooting, and high-level repairs on production and facility equipment. Working with minimal supervision, you will identify root causes, complete precision rebuilds, lead preventive and predictive maintenance activities, and help improve equipment performance and reliability.

• Troubleshoot, repair, install, and overhaul mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Maintain high-speed packaging equipment, processing systems, industrial ovens, conveyors, and related production machinery.
• Perform precision mechanical work, including:
  • Bearing installation
  • Shaft and coupling alignment
  • Chain and belt alignment
  • Gearbox rebuilds
  • Machine leveling and adjustment
• Diagnose root causes of equipment failures and recommend effective corrective actions.
• Document troubleshooting activities, repairs, parts usage, and equipment condition accurately.
• Perform fabrication work using cutting, welding, machining, and blueprint interpretation skills.
• Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance activities, including vibration analysis, thermal inspections, lubrication system maintenance, and scheduled equipment rebuilds.
• Troubleshoot industrial electrical systems up to 480V, including motors, sensors, relays, and control wiring.
• Perform intermediate PLC diagnostics by reading ladder logic, identifying input and output faults, and assisting with programming changes under appropriate guidance.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and configure variable frequency drives, motor starters, and instrumentation devices.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and complete repairs safely and effectively to minimize production downtime.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and plant leadership to improve equipment performance, uptime, and reliability.
• Train and mentor Maintenance Mechanic I team members on maintenance procedures, troubleshooting methods, and technical best practices.
• Follow all OSHA, GMP, food safety, and plant safety standards.
• Operate forklifts, hoists, aerial lifts, and other industrial equipment when qualified and authorized.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager.
