Professional Development

Responsibilities
  • Operate company‑owned and leased Class A trucks to deliver and pick up building materials.
  • Plan and execute efficient delivery routes to ensure timely service.
  • Drive safely under varying weather and road conditions across the service territory.
  • Maintain strict compliance with all DOT hours‑of‑service regulations.
  • Represent Parksite with professionalism and courtesy during every customer interaction.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, warehouse staff, and dispatch.
  • Secure loads using proper tie‑down techniques, including winch and ratchet strap systems, chains, binders, edge protection, and side‑curtain wall systems.
  • Verify load security before departure and during trip inspections.
  • Assist with hand loading and unloading of building materials (50–90 lbs. as required).
  • Operate forklifts when required to assist with warehouse operations.
  • Conduct post‑trip inspections and report findings; complete required DOT inspection reports.
  • Maintain accurate driver logs, proof of delivery, mileage, fuel usage, and maintenance records.
  • Use proper lifting techniques and material handling equipment, and keep the vehicle’s cab and exterior clean.
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety rules and procedures.
  • Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions; report hazards or incidents immediately.
  • Follow instructions from the Operations Manager and dispatch coordinators, and work collaboratively with warehouse and office teams.
  • Perform other duties assigned to support overall logistics operations.
Schedule
  • Full‑time position.
  • Day shift schedule (typically early morning starts).
  • Flexibility to work overtime during peak periods as needed.
  • Occasional overnight trips depending on delivery requirements.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly lift and move materials up to 50 lbs., occasionally up to 90 lbs.
  • Work in various environmental conditions (hot, cold, snow, rain, outdoor elements).
  • Sit for extended periods while driving.
  • Frequent holding, grasping, pushing, and pulling during loading/unloading operations.
  • Climb in and out of the truck cab and onto flatbed as needed.
  • Exposure to bright lights, noise, and temperature extremes.
Pre‑Employment Requirements
  • Pass DOT‑regulated drug and alcohol screening, background check, and employment verification.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
Required Qualifications
  • Valid CDL Class A license in good standing.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional commercial driving experience.
  • Excellent Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major violations.
  • Valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT medical card).
  • Basic math skills for distance, fuel consumption, and delivery schedule calculations.
  • Basic English proficiency for reading, writing, and interpreting documents such as safety rules, bills of lading, route maps, and DOT regulations.
  • Excellent time‑management and organizational abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
