Transportation Shipment Planner, Corporate Transportation - Lakeland | Publix Super Markets, Inc.

The purpose of this position is to ensure that our Corporate Transportation load building and routing tools are configured and utilized effectively to produce the most timely, accurate and cost-efficient outbound and intracompany transfer transportation solutions possible for Publix while providing premier service. Publix Retail, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Dispatch, Warehousing, outside customers, and partner operations all rely on these services for planning and coordinating value added cost-effective transportation solutions to our stores, distribution facilities, and outside customers.

• Utilizing Publix Transportation Management System (TMS) tools to analyze all outbound store orders (33,000 per week) and transfer orders (1,500 per week), to construct and execute cost effective full truck load shipments that will arrive at the delivery locations on the established date and time.
• Coordinating and facilitating routine and exception-based transportation plans from shipping facilities to destination facilities by partnering with Manufacturing, Warehousing, Dispatch, Retail, Procurement, and for-hire carriers.
• Analyzing KPIs, identifying trends, and driving continuous improvement.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year experience working in distribution or an analytical field
• Knowledge of the Distribution and Transportation industry
• Willingness to work a variable work schedule, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work
• Ability to work efficiently with little to no supervision
• Ability to adjust style or approach in response to differing circumstances or to work in ambiguous situations
• Ability to demonstrate organizational and time management skills including the ability to multitask

• Associate degree in business or any other analytical discipline
• Three years' experience working in Publix Corporate Transportation or similar environment
• Knowledge of Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) rules
• Knowledge of DOT regulations
• Knowledge of Transportation management systems (TMS)
• Knowledge of PC Miler
• Knowledge of Transportation Area Data Application (TADA)
• Knowledge of Share Point
• Knowledge of Power Fleet
• Knowledge of Transportation Driver Performance System (TDPS)
• Knowledge of Replenishment Schedule Maintenance (RSM)
