The Design School, Taylor’s University is looking for a visionary Associate Professor for a degree programme focused on the intersection of creative industries, smart home design, and immersive and interactive space design. The successful candidate will have expertise in integrating creative design with smart technologies, interactive environments, and spatial experiences across both public and private spaces
.

• Provide academic and strategic leadership in the programme, ensuring alignment with industry trends, technological advancements, and international benchmarks.
• Develop and deliver high-quality teaching and research in creative smart home design, immersive spatial experiences, and interactive environments.
• Drive the development of interdisciplinary curriculum content that integrates digital technologies such as AI, IoT, AR/VR, and interactive media into spatial design.
• Establish partnerships with industry leaders, government agencies, and international institutions to enhance the programme’s impact and visibility.
• Lead research initiatives in practice-based design innovation, smart environments, and human-centered spatial interactions.
• Mentor faculty members and students in creative research, design thinking, and industry-driven projects.
• Contribute to the faculty’s internationalisation efforts, promoting collaborations and knowledge exchange with global experts and institutions.
• Oversee accreditation, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of the programme.

• PhD in Design, Smart Environments, Interaction Design, Immersive & Interactive Design or a related field.
• Strong academic background with a proven track record in teaching, research, and scholarly publications.
• Extensive industry experience in smart design, digital environments, or immersive spatial interaction.
• Expertise in digital tools, smart technology integration, and interactive media applications in spatial design.
• Demonstrated leadership in developing academic programmes and securing research funding.
• Experience in supervising postgraduate students and fostering a research-led learning environment.
• Strong global network in the creative industries, technology, and design research.

• Proficiency in emerging technologies such as IoT, AR/VR, AI-driven design, and interactive installations.
• Ability to merge creative design approaches with technological innovations for smart living and interactive environments.
• Strong industry connections with a track record of collaborative projects in smart and immersive spaces.
