Position ObjectiveA daily substitute teacher will provide effective, consistent, and engaging instruction in the absence of the regular classroom teacher by maintaining a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment, implementing lesson plans as provided, and supporting students’ academic and social‑emotional growth in accordance with FLRSD policies and Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) standards.
Responsibilities- Deliver lessons and provide instruction as outlined in teacher plans.
- Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful classroom environment.
- Support all students’ learning.
- Collaborate with support staff and follow student plans as needed.
- Use effective teaching and classroom‑management strategies.
- Promote high expectations, equity, and respect for diversity.
- Ensure all practices align with district policies and DESE standards.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- Two years of college credits.
- High school or trade school diploma.
- Must pass a pre‑employment criminal background check.
Salary: $90.00 per day. Employment is contingent upon job performance, program needs, and funding, in accordance with the Freetown‑Lakeville Regional School Collective Bargaining Agreement.
