Hellmuth & Johnson, PLLC, a growing and collaborative mid-size law firm located in Edina, Minnesota, is seeking a motivated and organized Legal Assistant / Administrative Assistant to join our Lakeville office. This hybrid role combines legal assistant duties, front desk reception, and general office administrative responsibilities while supporting both a litigation attorney and a real estate attorney.

The role plays an important part in ensuring the Lakeville office operates efficiently while providing exceptional service to clients and supporting attorneys in their daily practice.

We are looking for someone who is highly organized, detail oriented, and has strong communication skills. The ideal candidate enjoys interacting with clients, managing multiple priorities, and supporting attorneys through both legal and administrative work. Candidates with an associate degree, paralegal certificate, or legal assistant certificate are preferred, though applicants with at least six months of legal or administrative experience will also be considered.
Responsibilities- Support attorneys with document preparation and case administration
- Coordinate schedules and client communications
- Maintain electronic and physical client files
- Assist with billing and administrative processes
- Serve as the primary front desk contact for the Lakeville office, greeting visitors, answering calls, and helping coordinate client intake
- Manage mail, order office supplies, and assist with day‑to‑day office management tasks
- Highly organized, detail oriented, and strong communication skills
- Experience interacting with clients, managing multiple priorities, and supporting attorneys through both legal and administrative work
- Prefer candidates with an associate degree, paralegal certificate, or legal assistant certificate
- At least six months of legal or administrative experience

Salary ranges from $45,000 to $55,000 annually and is commensurate with experience.
