Kid Zone Special Education Paraprofessional
Serve as a contributing member of the ESS and special education team. Support academic programs designed by ESS instructors, special and general education teachers including leading small groups, providing one-to-one follow-up, re-teaching/review, and keeping students on-task. Provide supports to enhance student success and independence through implementation of Individual Education Program (IEP) adaptations and accommodations. (e.g., taking notes in class, reading materials aloud, utilizing technology, implementing organizational tools).
Provide feedback to ESS instructors and special education teachers about ESS class activities, assignments, student participation, and behavior.
Training or experience working with children in a group tutorial and supervisory setting. Interpersonal skills, that lend themselves to a compatible working relationship with students and other adults in the work place as determined by the principal. Possess basic academic competencies to provide tutorial assistance to the student(s) as needed.
