Job DescriptionQualifications/
Experience:
High School Diploma/GED and passed Para Pro/Para Educator testing (or 60 college credits) required. A successful background check is required.
Prefer experience working with children.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Needed: Patience, flexibility, love for older students, confidentiality, teamwork, self-starter, takes direction easily, excellent communication skills, behavior management skills, assist in the classroom and in special education classroom.
Exemplifies the following Five Character Traits: compassion, respect, responsibility, self-discipline, and honesty.
Specific Tasks: Work with students (ages 18-22) throughout the day assisting with academics, life skills, and behavior. Refocus the student in the classroom, de-escalate negative behavior, recognize and acknowledge positive behavior, and work cooperatively with the classroom teacher and Special Education staff. Work to increase independence in students. Other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher. See thejob description for additional information.
Hours Per Day: 6.5 hours/day
Long term substitute position from approx. to 10/5/26 to approx. 12/23/26. As per contract
