Job Description

Make a meaningful impact on students’ lives as a Developmental Adaptive Physical Education Teacher for the upcoming fall semester. With a position spanning from early September through the end of November, you’ll work full-time across two middle schools, ensuring every learner receives engaging, accessible instruction tailored to their needs.

Key Requirements:

• Valid MN Developmental Adaptive Physical Education (DAPE) license (required for consideration)
• Demonstrated experience or training in adaptive or special education physical education settings
• Strong ability to create and implement differentiated lesson plans for students with a wide range of abilities
• Collaborative spirit and effective communication skills for partnering with school staff, families, and support professionals
• Organizational skills to manage documentation, progress tracking, and compliance requirements

Your Role:

• Deliver adaptive physical education instruction to students in middle school settings, focusing on individualized goals and progress
• Assess physical abilities, develop appropriate learning objectives, and monitor student achievementsn
• Adapt and modify curriculum, equipment, and activities to meet diverse student needs
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging environment that promotes growth and participation
• Liaise with multidisciplinary teams and attend IEP meetings, ensuring alignment with students’ educational plans
• Communicate regularly with families and caregivers about student progress and adaptive strategies
• Maintain accurate documentation and records as required
