Entry-Level Systems Engineer – Lakeville, MN

Salary Range: $60,000 – $90,000

Black River Systems Company, a small, established research‑oriented engineering firm headquartered in Utica, NY, is looking for an Entry Level Systems Engineer to help us design and analyze state‑of‑the‑art radar and electro‑optical sensor systems. The candidate should have a strong background in applied mathematics or engineering. Candidates should have an interest in signal and image processing, control systems, or digital communications.

The position is established to work in a team environment to develop technical solutions for our customers in areas such as algorithm development, functional analysis, performance trade‑off studies, prototype development, and proof‑of‑concept demonstrations.

• Bachelor of science in mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, or related field (master’s degree is a plus)
• Minimum 3.25 GPA
• Engineering skills in one or more languages widely used for software development (e.g. C/C++, Java, Rust, and/or Go) is desirable.
• Experience with scientific computing languages (e.g. Python, Matlab, R, and/or Julia) and other software‑based simulation is strongly desired.
• High degree of interpersonal and team‑building skills to work as part of a team of government, military, and contractor personnel.
• U.S. citizenship – must be able to obtain or already have a Department of Defense security clearance.
