Internship Programs at Comm ScopeOur Summer Internship Program is designed to provide an invaluable work experience through meaningful projects that help students grow professionally and personally. The 12‑week program includes on‑the‑job training, professional development workshops, executive speaker series, and networking events.
How You Will Help Us Connect the WorldAs a Materials Engineering Intern you will support Research and Development in the Cable and Connectivity Solutions business. You will work with senior Materials Engineering staff to develop test methods used for evaluating a wide range of fiber‑optic products and their materials of construction.
Responsibilities- Execute planned experimentation diligently.
- Record, analyze, and report data to enable clear conclusions.
- Contribute new ideas and improvement opportunities in materials technology and testing methods.
- Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
- Actively pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Materials Science & Engineering from an accredited university.
- Strong academic performance with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Basic lab and chemical safety awareness.
- Unrestricted work authorization; no future sponsorship required.

- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Innovative thinking and proposal of new ideas.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

- Strong initiative, self‑starter, analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem‑solving ability.
- Experience in a fast‑paced environment and flexibility to changing priorities.
