Our firm has been engaged by a prominent global agricultural processor to find a skilled Process Engineer for their facility in the Hallock area. This is a critical role focused on optimizing production, spearheading continuous improvement initiatives, and managing capital projects to ensure the facility operates at peak safety and efficiency levels.
The client is looking for a technical expert with a background in agricultural processing, biofuels, or chemical manufacturing who can translate engineering concepts into tangible plant improvements.
Core Responsibilities- Design and execute technical development projects including calculations, material specifications, and automation integration.
- Manage capital projects typically valued up to one million dollars from initial design through construction.
- Direct construction crews and coordinate with external consultants to ensure project timelines and safety standards are met.
- Provide hands on troubleshooting for plant equipment and utility systems such as steam, compressed air, and wastewater treatment.
- Conduct root cause analysis for operational challenges and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Maintain rigorous documentation for process flows, piping diagrams, and electrical equipment to support maintenance and financial reporting.
- Drive Lean manufacturing principles and food safety protocols across all engineering activities.
- A Bachelor of Science in Chemical Mechanical Agricultural or Biosystems Engineering.
- A minimum of two years of professional experience in process or project engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to manage small to mid sized construction and maintenance projects.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot complex unit operations.
- Willingness to travel occasionally and work flexible hours during plant shutdowns or holidays if necessary.
- Previous experience specifically within oilseed processing or ethanol production.
- Professional certification in Project Management PMP.
- Formal training or certification in Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
