With that in mind, we are looking for a Fabrication Project Engineer to join our Windom, MN team. In this role you will serve as a senior technical leader responsible for developing and implementing advanced manufacturing solutions that improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance across the organization.
This role leads complex engineering initiatives, provides technical direction and mentorship to engineering team members, and collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to support business objectives. The Engineer IV leverages extensive manufacturing expertise to drive continuous improvement, support new product introductions, and establish long‑term manufacturing strategies that enhance operational excellence and organizational growth.
- Lead the planning, development, and implementation of complex manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and facility improvements that support operational and strategic business objectives.
- Serve as a technical expert for manufacturing engineering activities, providing guidance, mentorship, and training to Manufacturing Engineers, Technicians, and cross‑functional team members.
- Lead cross‑functional teams in the successful introduction of new products and manufacturing technologies, ensuring production readiness, launch success, quality requirements, and cost objectives are achieved.
- Develop and execute long‑term manufacturing strategies that improve productivity, capacity, safety, quality, and operational efficiency through lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
- Identify, prioritize, and lead high‑impact cost reduction, value engineering, automation, and capital investment initiatives; prepare business cases, feasibility studies, and return‑on‑investment analyses to support recommendations.
- Drive plant layout optimization, workflow improvements, and material flow strategies to increase throughput, reduce waste, and support future growth requirements.
- Establish engineering standards, best practices, and manufacturing specifications to ensure consistency, scalability, and compliance across manufacturing operations.
- Analyze manufacturing performance metrics, quality data, capacity utilization, and process variation to identify improvement opportunities and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Review product designs and provide strategic manufacturing input to improve manufacturability, quality, reliability, and overall product cost throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Lead the evaluation, selection, installation, and validation of new manufacturing equipment, technologies, and automation systems while ensuring alignment with safety and operational requirements.
