Lakeville Area Schools has a Level 1 Technology Support Specilist A/V - Secondaryposition available.
This position is a 261 day per year position.
Salary: $45,000(prorated to the start date.)

The Level 1 Technology Support Specialist - A/V is a primary point of contact for staff seeking technical support. Perform a broad range of IT support services: A/V technology in new and existing classrooms, PC and Mac, mobile device, software, and basic network support. The Level 1 Technology Support Specialist builds customer relationships by coordinating with customers to plan operational and project work.

Responsible for answering calls, support tickets, and e-mail and providing in-person support, training and assistance. The Level 1 Technology Support Specialist - A/V is responsible for video production for LAS events held at Lakeville North High School and A/V streaming and recording needs for the LAS Board of Education meetings.


Note:
The Level 1 Technology Support Specialist A/V - Secondary will broadcast BoE meetings and post content under the supervision of the DSC-IT A/V Admin.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential functions of this position may include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental duties:
  • Provide Tier I support in the resolution of technical issues.
  • Equipment maintenance, repair, set-up and inventory.
  • Daytime auditorium supervisor.
  • Produce videos for LNHS as directed by building administrator.
  • Manage video production.
  • Stream, record, edit and produce LAS Board of Education meetings.
  • Supervises and is responsible for Video Club.
  • Coordinates with other staff for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently.
  • Communicate with administrators and staff on the status of equipment and projects through the helpdesk.
  • Webmaster for LNHS websites.
  • Prepare written materials (e.g. helpdesk tickets, reports, memos, emails, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information.
  • Support the repair, preventative maintenance and updating of the technology enhanced learning spaces.
  • Troubleshoots, and is frequently first responder for technology in classrooms and media equipment difficulties experienced by staff and students.
  • Assists in the training and use of technology in enhanced classrooms and meeting spaces.
  • Assists with inventory control and associated documentation of all AV technology, including maintenance and updating of the LAS classroom technology replacement cycle.
  • Set up and install equipment such as microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, sound and mixing boards for events and functions such as concerts, sports events, meetings and conventions, presentations, Board of Education meetings and news conferences.
  • Participates in district in-service, workshops, and meetings as directed.
  • All employees of District 194 will promote and represent site safety by performing their job in a manner that reflects any and all relevant District safety guidelines or policies.
  • The work is primarily conducted in school classrooms, libraries, computer labs, and offices. Some work may involve accessing ceilings, crawl spaces or wiring closets.
  • Some evening work hours are required to support broadcasting School Board meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (Specific training or job experience required before appointment):
  • An AA degree from an accredited technical college or equivalent experience.
  • Dante Level 1 Certification, Q-SYS Level 1 Certification (required within 1 year).
  • Working knowledge of audio/visual support, design and peripherals.
  • Working knowledge of video production. Broadcasting experience is preferred but not required.
  • Working knowledge of photoshop - Poster design, graphic design for classroom, graphic design for video and web.
  • Working knowledge of Apple computers, Windows computers, various tablets, and networks.
  • Working knowledge of basic productivity software (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software).
  • Knowledge of technical equipment and working knowledge of various computer programs.
  • Requires the ability to work independently and prioritize within a demanding environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and have a valid driver's license.
