Medtronic is a global leader in healthcare technology with a Mission to alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life. Our 95,000 employees work across more than 150 countries to put patients first — developing innovative medical technologies that improve the lives of 72+ million patients each year.

A Day in the Life

Managing indirect categories for the world's largest medical device company is rewarding in itself, but what makes this work truly meaningful is knowing that every dollar saved can be reinvested into technologies that help alleviate pain, restore health, and extend lives for millions of patients around the world. The work we do directly supports the Medtronic Mission, and it matters. As the Principal Strategic Sourcing Specialist, MRO, you will be a key member of Medtronic's center-led Indirect Supply Management (ISM) team, reporting to the Senior Sourcing Manager of Global MRO.

In this role, you will develop and execute value-driven sourcing strategies across functions, regions, and businesses, leveraging Medtronic's global scale to deliver year-over-year value within the MRO Category Vertical. • Utilize data-driven decision making by developing robust spend transparency, maintaining category data integrity, and identifying trends, opportunities, and cost reduction initiatives that optimize overall MRO cost pool management and support informed business decisions.
  • Partner with Sourcing Operations and Administration teams to expand and optimize purchasing catalogs and guided buying solutions, improving user adoption, compliance, operational efficiency, and alignment with broader category strategies.
  • Influence senior leaders and key stakeholders by identifying opportunities, recommending innovative solutions to complex business challenges, and presenting actionable strategies that enhance organizational performance and deliver measurable business value.
