RoleThe purpose of the Warehouse Team Member is to receive; store; and distribute material; tools; equipment; and products within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions.
Responsibilities- Assist shipping and receiving; unloading trucks; checking in merchandise; matching purchase orders to sales orders
- Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and/or shipped
- Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code
- File requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools or other stock items and distribute items to shipping or to designated route driver storage area
- Ensure warehouses are accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic
- Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department
- Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate methods
- Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via ERP system
- Assist in counting physical inventory
- Weigh and count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards
- Complete requisition forms to order supplies from other departments
- Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times
- High School diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience
- 1+ year of prior warehouse experience
- 1+ year of prior experience in forklift operation
- Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push, and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less for up to 10 hours per day
- Exposure to variation in temperature, including work for prolong periods in a freezer environment
- Able to manage working in a diverse environment
- Ability to practice open communication for effective conflict management
- Follow detailed instructions
- Critical thinking and decision making
- Must have basic math skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Hearing and Visual skills
- Understand and follow First-In-First-Out (FIFO) Policy
- Understand basic food safety requirements to position
- Ability to safely operate a Forklift and Pallet Jack
