We’re offering a $15,000 Sign On Bonus & Relocation to Cath Lab (CVIS) Professionals

Must hold an RCIS, ARRT certification. Open to training Rad Techs interested in transitioning into the Cath Lab.

Work Schedule: 4–10 hour day shifts, Monday–Thursday call only. Minimal weekend call—approximately one weekend every four months.

Lakeway is located about 25 miles west of downtown Austin in the scenic Texas Hill Country on the south shore of Lake Travis. The community features golf courses, tennis courts, marinas, a 65‑mile long lake, 100 acres of parkland and trails, and nearly 500 acres of greenbelts. The region offers dining at The Oasis on Lake Travis with scenic views of the rolling hills and sailboats on the lake.

Baylor Scott & White Health Lakeway is a 121‑bed, full‑service hospital. The medical center is a certified primary stroke center and a certified chest pain center, and it has achieved Magnet recognition for nursing professionalism, teamwork, and excellence in patient care.

  • Must live within 30 minutes of the hospital
  • Three procedure suites with 2 GE fluoroscopy units (soon to be upgraded to Phillips) and a Siemens biplane system; 12 private pre/post holding rooms
  • Procedures include:
    • Cardiology: left heart catheterization, PFO closure, STEMI/MI, mechanical device insertions, lithotripsy, thrombectomy, renal stenting, peripheral vascular, PCI
    • Interventional Radiology: kyphoplasty, port‑a‑cath placements, biopsies, cryoablations, uterine artery embolization, prostate embolization, GI bleed embolization, thrombectomy, percutaneous drain placement, paracentesis, thoracentesis, fistulograms
    • Electrophysiology: pacemaker, ablation, cryo‑ablation, pulse‑field ablation

Spacious procedure rooms support circulating nurses, scrub techs, and physicians. If necessary, equipment can be brought into the rooms.

Three‑to‑one nurse‑to‑patient ratio for pre/post monitoring. Techs rotate modalities and procedures.

Staff enjoy opportunities for autonomy and participation in facility‑based and departmental councils. The team is growing in vascular, neuro, and structural cardiovascular procedures.

Job Summary

The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, under general supervision, helps physicians during catheterization and electrophysiology lab procedures. The role prepares the room and equipment, instructs patients, monitors patient condition, provides routine and emergency care, contributes to training, and assists with quality control initiatives.

Essential Functions of the Role
  • Assist physicians with arteriograms/catheterizations, permanent pacemaker implantations, implantable cardiac defibrillators, diagnostic and interventional procedures
  • Follow national and state radiation protection regulations; perform emergency procedures such as CPR and defibrillation
  • Perform pre‑ and post‑procedure care and monitoring; orient patients for procedures; answer related questions to ease anxiety
  • Monitor patient ECG, pressures, temperature, and impedances in the electrophysiology lab; notify physicians of variances
  • Help run RF/Cryo ablation systems, 3D mapping, and document procedures
  • Manage and maintain imaging, including stenosis testing, formatting, and processing for cardiac and peripheral cases
