Senior/Supervisor Tax Accountant

New Jersey. The firm services a diverse client base within the tri-state area providing highly personalized
and comprehensive accounting, audit, tax and business consulting services.
We’re currently seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our Tax Services team. This is a key role for an experienced, self-driven professional with the potential to take on supervisory-level responsibilities.
In this role, you will:- Serve as a direct point of contact for clients – advising on tax strategies, planning opportunities, and compliance matters
- Prepare complex Federal, State, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and exempt organizations
- Reviewing mid-level complexity individual, trust, partnership and corporate tax returns prepared by tax staff for accuracy
- Supervise, train, and mentor junior staff within the Tax Services Department
- Stay current on evolving tax laws and industry regulations
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Working towards CPA license, or CPA certification (preferred)
- Having a Masters of Science in Taxation is a plus
- Minimum of four (4) years of tax experience in public accounting, with a strong background in 1040s, 1120s, and 1065s
- Excellent analytical and technical tax skills
- Strong communication and client service skills, with the ability to build and maintain trusted client relationships
- Proven ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Effective leadership, mentoring, and training abilities
- Outstanding organizational and project management skills, with high attention to detail
- Reliable transportation for occasional client or office visits
