Intern – Cost Accounting (Post-Graduate)

Our postgraduate internship in cost accounting offers a hands‑on opportunity to support financial analysis, improve cost visibility, and contribute to data‑driven decision making. You will work closely with experienced finance and operations professionals to analyze cost structures, support budgeting processes, and identify opportunities for efficiency and savings.
EssentialDuties
- Perform planned work to accomplish project goals while gaining experience with cost accounting practices, financial systems, and company policies.
- Assist with collecting, analyzing, and interpreting cost data to support operational and financial reporting needs.
- Support preparation of cost reports, variance analyses, and summaries to identify trends, discrepancies, and improvement opportunities.
- Work with cross‑functional teams such as operations, procurement, and finance to gather information and clarify cost‑related data.
- Assist in developing and maintaining cost models, standard costing processes, and inventory valuation support as applicable.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process by compiling data and assisting in financial analysis.
- Assist in identifying process improvements that enhance cost tracking accuracy and reporting efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records and support data entry into financial systems and company databases.
- Assign tasks may require applying accounting principles and analytical skills to both routine and moderately complex problems, with opportunities to build expertise over time.
- Completed Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- May be pursuing or interested in pursuing a Master’s degree (e.g., MBA or Master’s in Accounting or Finance).
No prior full‑time experience required.
Skills- Foundational knowledge of accounting principles, including cost accounting concepts.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate data and identify trends or discrepancies.
- Ability to apply accounting concepts to support financial and operational decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general familiarity with financial systems or ERP platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team‑oriented environment.
Or an equivalent competency level acquired through a variation of these qualifications may be considered.
LocationLakewood, Colorado – open to candidates willing to relocate.
