Job SummaryThe Arvada Admissions Department at RRCC is seeking a Student Admissions Assistant – Arvada Campus who will provide quality customer service to all RRCC Arvada Campus visitors, students, staff and faculty. This includes but not limited to answering the Welcome Desk Phone, providing directions, answering admission and academic program questions and assisting with all Welcome Desk functions. In addition, the Student Admission Assistant will meet with prospective students and their families conducting campus tours, information sessions, participate in outreach events and provide enrollment/registration assistance.
AdditionalResponsibilities Include
- Assisting with tour planning and implementation utilizing Microsoft Teams.
- Conducting individual, small group and school group tours.
- Assist with organizing information sessions, New Student Orientations and events hosted or co-hosted by the Arvada Admissions Team.
- Answer the Welcome Desk phone and respond to inquiries from guest, students, staff & faculty.
- Provide supplemental admission & registration assistance to the Arvada Admission Staff.
- Attend all ambassador and Arvada Admissions Staff meetings and trainings as directed by supervisor.
- Print room schedules from AdAstra and post every Monday or Tuesday following a holiday.
- Maintain professional attire when acting in the Student Assistant capacity and as directed. Specific attire will be provided by Red Rocks Community College for special events.
- Complete special projects as assigned by the Arvada Admissions Coordinator and/or Arvada Dean of Instruction
This position reports to Arvada Admissions Coordinator. The work schedule for this position is within the workday of 8:00am – 5:00pm at the Arvada Campus location. May require hours outside of normal work schedule.
This position may work up to 20 hours per week, depending on budget and need.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Ability to interact and communicate effectively in all settings (in-person, remotely, written, and verbal correspondences) with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Good customer service and public speaking skills are necessary.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products and general computer skills are required.
- Must be reliable, have a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Applicants must be an enrolled RRCC taking 6 or more credit hours
- Applicants must be in good academic standing and must have a minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA (Grade Point Average). If a first-year student must attain a 3.0 GPA the first semester to retain position.
- Successful candidates should be able to work 10-20 hours each week
- Be able to provide at least one letter of recommendation if requested.
- Student Admissions Assistant may work special events occasionally held outside of normal business hours.
The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position.
- Occasionally moves, positions, and transports files and office materials weighing up to 10 lbs.
- This is largely a sedentary role. This position operates in an office environment and constantly uses a computer, and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc.
- The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.
The hourly pay for this position is $19.37 - $19.89, commensurate with education and experience. This is a part-time, FLSA non-exempt position. This position may work up to 20 hours each week while an RRCC student, depending on need and budget availability. This position has been exempted from the State Classified System.
