Hourly PayThe hourly pay for this position is $80.87, commensurate with education and experience. This is a part-time, FLSA exempt position and may work up to 28 hours per week, depending on budget and need.

The Workforce Development at RRCC is seeking a HVAC Instructor to provide high-quality bilingual (Spanish/English) instruction for HVAC workforce training programs through classroom, laboratory, and hands-on learning experiences. The instructor is responsible for delivering industry-relevant curriculum, supporting student success, promoting safe work practices, and preparing students for entry-level employment in the HVAC industry. This position supports RRCC's commitment to serving diverse learners and expanding access to career and technical education opportunities.
This position reports to Director of Workforce Services. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Lakewood location. May require hours outside of normal work schedule.
This position may work up to 28 hours per week, depending on budget and need.
Competencies/KSAs- Knowledge of residential and commercial HVAC systems, tools, equipment, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting methods, and safety practices.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to entry-level learners using clear and accessible language.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA requirements, and HVAC industry standards.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to manage a classroom and laboratory environment while promoting student engagement and success.
- Ability to integrate technology and hands-on learning methods into instruction.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centered learning practices.
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent HVAC industry experience in installation, maintenance, service, troubleshooting, or a related hands-on HVAC role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of residential and commercial HVAC systems, tools, equipment, troubleshooting methods, and safety practices.
- Ability to independently deliver classroom, laboratory, and hands-on instruction.
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively to students with varying levels of experience and educational backgrounds.
- Demonstrated commitment to student success, workforce development, and learner-centered instruction.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, employers, and community partners.
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Spanish.
- EPA Section 608 Certification.
- HVAC certificate, apprenticeship completion, Associate degree, or higher in HVAC, Refrigeration Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- Prior experience teaching, training, mentoring, supervising apprentices, or leading workforce training programs.
- Community college, technical education, apprenticeship, or workforce development experience.
- Experience providing bilingual instruction in a technical training environment.
- NATE, HVAC Excellence, or other recognized HVAC industry certifications.
- Experience working with adult learners, first-generation students, multilingual learners, or historically underserved populations.
- Experience using instructional technology, learning management systems, or online learning platforms
