We take pride in meeting the academic and social emotional needs of our wonderfully diverse student body. Students are immersed in rich reading experiences grounded in Expeditionary Learning, which leads to hands on experiences in our Stevens Design Labs, on excursions, and in our Wheat Ridge community.
Our team creates indoor and outdoor instructional spaces where students can apply their learning. We also believe that technology integration is essential for 21st century success, and as such, we maintain a 1:1 technology ratio for all students K-5. We also host a GT center program and are an inclusive practices school for ASD.

RESPONSIBILITIESSUMMARY:
Develop, implement, and support individualized practices for achieving learning outcomes for students with communication, cognitive, physical, and/or social/behavioral needs, based on the requirements of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEIA). This teacher will utilize evidence-based best practice and rely on frequent progress monitoring for programming adjustments. The Learning Specialist teacher will take a leadership role in collaboratively problem solving interventions for students.
- Design and implement specialized instruction in one-on-one, small group and large classroom settings.
- Work collaboratively to plan and modify curriculum, team teach with general educators and to communicate the abilities and needs of special education students.
