OverviewThe Principal Architect/Project Development Leader will collaborate closely with Business Development Managers to identify potential projects, cultivate client relationships, and develop architectural space needs for clients.
Responsibilities- Identify and secure new projects by partnering with Business Development Managers.
- Build and maintain client relationships to understand needs and propose solutions.
- Assist in creating value propositions for clients.
- Develop proposals, participate in interviews, meetings, and presentations.
- Lead efforts in Physical Conditions Assessments, Programming, and Conceptual Design.
- Support projects through referendum processes where applicable.
- Set design direction with project team members.
- Oversee production efforts and ensure quality standards.
- Coordinate revisions and code evaluations.
- Develop sketches and preliminary designs.
- Create Facility Studies and address physical conditions and educational programming.
- Collaborate with estimating teams on budget development.
- Present architectural designs during RFQ/RFP phases.
- Participate in project meetings and client presentations.
- Coordinate with outside consultants and develop professional service agreements.
- Maintain strong client relationships and present project updates at meetings.

- Deep understanding of the K-12 educational market.

- Primarily office-based with onsite surveys and meetings.
- Additional hours and travel may be required.
- At least 10 years of architectural experience.
- Minimum 5 years focused on K-12 projects.
- Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Ability to obtain architectural registration in relevant states.
- Experience managing multiple projects.
- Strong public speaking and client relationship skills.
Includes sitting, climbing, balancing, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Vision and focus requirements are specified. Management reserves the right to modify duties as needed.
