Description

Martin/Martin, Inc. is looking for a mid-level structural engineer to join our Investigative Engineering Group in our Denver, Colorado office. Typical projects include engineering support for building renovations/repairs, concrete repair, fall protection systems, façade access systems, building envelope systems, expert witness work, and non‑destructive testing. The successful candidate will manage and oversee field investigations, recommend testing programs, develop reports and repair documents, and perform construction administration services.

Projects will require a balance between in‑office design time and on‑site evaluation time. The position will interact with building owners, contractors, and provide marketing activities.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and perform investigations with in‑house staff and clients
  • Engage with clients and contractors as primary point of contact throughout the project life cycle
  • Manage and collaborate with engineering and technician staff to produce high‑quality project documentation using computer design and graphics software programs
  • Develop, monitor, and manage project work plans, schedules, and design budgets
  • Build lasting relationships with clients through project work and business development activities
  • Develop design recommendations for projects
  • Assemble construction drawings, write and edit specifications, and follow project specific QA/QC plans
Working Conditions, Skills, and Abilities
  • Move inside or outside the office and on non‑ADA accessible construction sites
  • Remain stationary for long periods of time
  • Repetitive movement on tasks such as using a keyboard or mouse

  • Determine and exchange accurate information
  • Occasionally move or hold equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Investigative:
    Positions self in atypical environments and small, confined spaces
Requirements
  • Registered Professional Engineer
  • Completed 4 years progressive engineering experience
  • Exhibits effective communication and technical skills
Desired qualifications
  • Completed 6‑8 years progressive engineering experience
  • Followed multiple engineering projects from start of design to completion of construction
  • Demonstrates a strong desire for continued professional development
  • Participating member of professional and/or technical societies
