Arc Flash Electrical Engineer

• Prepare electrical studies including short-circuit analysis, protective device coordination, grounding, and arc-flash analysis:
• Develop electrical system models in SKM and ETAP
• Write technical reports summarizing results from electrical model analysis.
• Correctly interpret results and make appropriate recommendations
• Participate in electrical field surveys to gather information for electrical model creation
• Apply knowledge of electrical engineering to create electrical studies, produce detailed electrical design drawings, and evaluate existing electrical equipment.
• Understand best power distribution design practices and relevant codes and standards.
• Implement requirements from NFPA 70E and IEEE 1584.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Proven experience with SKM software, formal SKM training is a plus; proven experience with ETAP software.
• 8+ years of experience with electrical design, construction, and/or commissioning of building, facilities, and industrial complexes
• Very strong experience and abilities in written communications and lucid report writing.
• Experience with or ability to become a project lead.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus.
• Field experience working in and around various commercial buildings and industrial facilities.
• 5+ years of experience working with NEC, IEEE, and NFPA standards related to short-circuit, arc flash, and protective devices
• Experience with electrical safety, lockout/tagout, arc-flash, and electrical codes
• Excellent problem-solving, technical, and analytical skills
• Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on detail-oriented and proficient documentation
• Effective teamwork abilities
• Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD and Revit is a plus.
• Ability to travel to project locations throughout the United States for 1 to 5 days approximately every other month.
• Strong problem solving, technical, math and science skills.

• Professional Engineering (PE) License.

• Must have a valid driver license and be able to pass the company DMV check
• A Federal Government background review that can include checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verification may be required as applicable.

$93,600 to $114,400/year salary, dependent on qualifications and experience
