Job Description

At Atlas, we're providing services that enable communities to flourish and thrive, and if you’re a CMT Lab Technician committed to doing meaningful work, then this is your moment. You’ll test materials to determine the physical properties of construction materials, including:
Aggregate, Concrete, Soil and Asphalt Mixtures. Construction Materials Laboratory Technicians will travel to the Lakewood lab and perform testing for producers, contractors, developers and/or owners for the materials they are using in their construction. Join a dynamic, value-driven, client- and community-focused environment where your work creates a lasting positive impact for the people and communities we serve.

Core Responsibilities

Laboratory Technicians are expected to pass necessary certifications to perform work to industry standards. Weekend work and overtime hours are scheduled as needed, with the ability to schedule around personal obligations.

As the Level II Laboratory Technician, responsibilities will include the supervision of daily testing activities in the lab, answering junior staff's technical questions related to materials testing, and working directly with the Lab Manager to schedule testing and assign tasks to lab staff.

You’ll thrive here if you have
  • Minimum two years of experience in materials testing or transportation industry.
  • A science background is preferred, or as a minimum good math skill.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word will be helpful.
  • Current materials testing certifications are a plus, but training and certification enrollment is provided.
  • Knowledge of CDOT, FAA, COE, ASTM, and AASHTO procedures and specifications will be useful.
  • Timeliness and communication skills are required for this position. Self-starter and Can-do attitude are desirable traits.
