Overview

Martin/Martin is seeking a Civil Investigative Engineer to join our rapidly growing Investigative Engineering Group in our Denver, Colorado office. Our team specializes in developing and managing engineering services for the renovation, restoration, retrofit, and repair of existing site elements, including grading, drainage, pavement systems, subsurface utilities, and roadways. We support a broad range of civil projects, including condition assessments, non‑destructive testing, and expert witness services.

This role combines in‑office design work with on‑site evaluations. Candidates should bring a working knowledge of civil site standards, applicable codes, and construction practices, along with the ability to draw informed conclusions from field investigations.

Responsibilities
  • Support project managers with field investigations.
  • Prepare technical reports.
  • Produce engineering deliverables aligned with project needs.
  • Develop repair drawings, coordinate with project teams, perform engineering analyses, conduct site evaluations, and manage construction administration activities.
  • Collaborate closely with property owners, municipalities, architects, and contractors to build strong professional relationships and contribute to successful project outcomes.
  • Participate in industry events.
Qualifications
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum.
  • Required: Proficiency with Civil3D.
  • Required: Has passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Examination.
  • Required: 2–5 years’ experience.
  • Required: Must be eligible to work for any employer in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Required: Ability to work in the Denver area. Relocation reimbursement may be provided.
  • Desired: Experience or interest in forensic engineering and/or expert witness support.
  • Desired: Relevant intern experience.
  • Desired: Knowledge or proficiency with Storm

    CAD, Flow Master, Water

    CAD, Auto Turn.
  • Desired: Knowledge of building and material design codes.
  • Desired: Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Desired: Self‑motivated and able to work independently for extended periods of time.
  • Desired: Strong written, technical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Desired: Construction field experience.
  • Desired: Ability to manage small projects through design.
  • Desired: GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Working Conditions, Skills, & Abilities
  • Move inside or outside the office and on non‑ADA accessible construction sites.
  • Remain stationary for long periods.

  • Determine and exchange accurate information.
  • Occasionally move or hold equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Compensation
  • Base Salary: $77,000 – $83,000 annually for Colorado hires.
  • Accrued time: salaried position with accrued time eligibility.
  • Base salary review: annual base salary increase review process.
  • Annual bonus: discretionary.
