We are seeking a Building Envelope Consultant to join our growing Building Science and Building Envelope team. This role involves the investigation, assessment, design, and rehabilitation of building enclosure systems across a variety of residential, commercial, institutional, healthcare, and mixed‑use properties. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, architects, contractors, and project teams to diagnose building performance issues and develop practical, cost‑effective solutions.
This position offers exposure to roofing, waterproofing, façades, windows, curtain wall systems, air and vapor barriers, and building envelope commissioning on both new construction and existing building projects.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct building envelope investigations and condition assessment
- Perform field reviews, site inspections, and leak investigation
- Evaluate roofing, waterproofing, façade, glazing, and exterior wall systems
- Prepare technical reports outlining observations, deficiencies, and recommended repair
- Develop repair and rehabilitation designs for existing building envelope system
- Prepare construction documents, technical specifications, and repair detail
- Review shop drawings, submittals, and contractor requests for information (RFIs)
- Provide construction administration and field observation services during repairs and new construction
- Conduct water intrusion testing, façade assessments, and performance evaluation
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and building owners
- Manage multiple projects while maintaining schedules and budgets
- Assist with proposal preparation, client development, and business development initiatives
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Building Science, Architecture, or a related discipline
- 3–10+ years of experience in Building Envelope, Building Science, Restoration, Architecture, or Structural Engineering
- Strong understanding of building enclosure systems, roofing systems, waterproofing systems, curtain wall systems, windows and glazing, air and vapor barriers, building codes and standards
- Experience conducting site investigations and preparing technical reports
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
