JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Systems Engineering & Integration Lead to establish and lead systems engineering practices for complex technical and operational initiatives. This is a new position within the organization and will play a critical role in connecting business objectives with disciplined technical execution.

The successful candidate will bring structure to complex projects by helping define requirements, manage interfaces, coordinate cross‑functional technical work, assess risks, support trade‑off decisions, and ensure solutions are designed, verified, and implemented with lifecycle performance in mind.

What We Are Looking For
  • Experience in systems engineering, engineering management, technical program management, integration, operations, infrastructure, technology, logistics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical information and translate it into clear requirements, plans, risks, and decisions.
  • Strong understanding of lifecycle planning, requirements management, verification, risk management, interface management, or configuration management.
  • Ability to lead cross‑functional discussions and align stakeholders with different priorities.
  • Strong analytical, communication, facilitation, and documentation skills.
  • Comfortable working in a new role where processes may need to be created, refined, and adopted across the organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, systems engineering, business, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering, project management or combination.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing or managing Systems Engineering Management Plans, technical baselines, verification matrices, system architectures, or integrated schedules.
  • Familiarity with engineering standards, lifecycle management, operational readiness, quality systems, or reliability/supportability practices.
  • Experience with complex infrastructure, industrial operations, software‑enabled systems, logistics, energy, utilities, or regulated environments.
  • INCOSE certification, PMP, or related professional certification is a plus.
Position Impact

This role will help improve project predictability, reduce rework, strengthen technical governance, and ensure solutions are aligned with business needs from the beginning. The position will be highly visible and will influence how the organization plans, evaluates, integrates, and delivers complex initiatives.

Compensation

$189,500 - $250,000

Responsibilities
  • Lead systems engineering activities across the full project lifecycle, from concept and requirements definition through design, verification, execution, commissioning, and operations.
  • Develop and maintain technical plans, requirements baselines, system breakdown structures, interface definitions, verification plans, and decision records.
  • Work with business leaders, engineers, project managers, operations teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to translate needs into actionable technical requirements.
  • Facilitate requirements analysis, functional decomposition, design synthesis, technical reviews, risk assessments, and trade studies.
  • Establish traceability between customer needs, operational requirements, system designs, test/verification evidence, and final deliverables.
  • Coordinate integration across multiple teams and disciplines to ensure dependencies, interfaces, and technical assumptions are understood and managed.
  • Support configuration management, change control, technical documentation, and governance processes.
  • Develop measures of effectiveness, measures of performance, and technical performance indicators to track solution maturity and readiness.
  • Identify technical risks and recommend mitigation strategies that balance cost, schedule, performance, reliability, supportability, and long‑term value.
  • Help build scalable systems engineering standards, processes, and tools for a growing organization.
