This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. As part of a passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be a crucial member of the Core Avionics organization within the Lunar Permanence business unit. You will contribute to the development and delivery of avionics products for Lunar Vehicles, including flight computers, I/O units, embedded controllers, and associated electrical hardware.

This is a hands-on product engineering role. Working with experienced engineers and cross-functional partners, you will support the development lifecycle from requirements and design through build, integration, test, verification, qualification, production, and sustainment. You will work directly with internal manufacturing teams and suppliers, support hardware builds, and perform bench-level testing and troubleshooting using electronic test equipment.

This position will directly impact the history of space exploration by enabling affordable, safe, and repeatable spaceflight. Responsibilities:
  • Support the development and lifecycle execution of avionics hardware products under the guidance of senior engineers, including requirements, interfaces, design documentation, build, integration, test, and release activities.
  • Perform hands-on hardware integration, functional testing, and troubleshooting using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, electronic loads, and logic analyzers.
  • Partner with electrical hardware, mechanical, embedded software, FPGA, controls, systems, test, manufacturing, and mission assurance teams to resolve clearly scoped technical issues.
  • Support hardware manufacturers and suppliers during fabrication, assembly, inspection, and acceptance activities; document and help resolve build discrepancies and nonconformances.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, including test procedures, test reports, requirements-verification evidence, work instructions, and issue-tracking records.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or another related technical field.
  • 2+ years of experience in the design, build, integration, test, or verification of avionics, electronic hardware, embedded systems, or comparable complex hardware products.
  • Foundational knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals, including analog and digital circuits, component datasheets, schematic interpretation, and basic electronic troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience using electronic laboratory test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, bench power supplies, electronic loads, or logic analyzers.
  • Familiarity with engineering requirements, design reviews, and hardware verification or qualification activities.
