  • Own the full hardware lifecycle from requirements definition through concept development, design, analysis, testing, qualification, and integration
  • Analyze, develop, and test primary and secondary metallic and composite unpressurized structures
  • Complete hand calculations and finite element method analyses to report margins of safety
  • Document stress analyses supporting release of engineering drawings and documents
  • Research, develop concepts, and conduct risk, cost, and performance trade studies
  • Build system- and detail-level models supporting structural design
  • Own structural test planning, execution, data reduction, analysis, and test report authoring
  • Prepare technical content and present to internal and external customers
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams throughout design, manufacturing, and mission integration
  • Support development and operations of New Glenn, including next-generation payload accommodations hardware, the 8.7M payload fairing, and adapters
Requirements
  • Minimum B.S. degree in engineering
  • 6+ years of experience with aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structures
  • U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted U.S. refugee or asylee
  • Experience with recently developed aircraft or launch vehicles
  • Experience with vehicle load-path distribution and first-order strength assessment and sizing, or skin-stringer, orthogrid, isogrid, and composite sandwich panel design
  • Experience working in a multifunctional organization to develop designs and engineered products
  • Strong understanding of composite and metallic design fundamentals
  • Expertise with industry-standard analysis codes such as Ansys, Nastran, Optistruct, or Hypermesh
  • Experience in bolted joint design and analysis
  • Structural design experience using CAD, hand calculations, and FEA tools;
    Creo/Windchill preferred
  • Ability to own the hardware lifecycle through launch-vehicle integration
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative, self-motivated, ownership-oriented, and committed to learning and project completion
  • Passion for Blue Origin's mission and vision
  • Preferred: rapid hardware development techniques; AFP and ATL fabrication; large-scale out-of-autoclave composite structures; manufacturing-process development; systems engineering, fabrication, integration, and quality‑control processes;
    Optimization and Design of Experiments methods
