About the Position

As a Proposal Engineer in the Client Services group, you will act as the primary liaison between client services and various internal and external stakeholders (e.g., clients, outside sales, and engineering). You will collaborate with these stakeholders to review commercial opportunities, develop effective solutions using NEI services, and review and manage incoming requests for proposals (RFPs). This role spans both civil engineering and medium‑to‑high voltage electrical engineering projects, including:

  • Renewable Energy (Wind, Solar, Battery Energy Storage)
  • Electrical Utility Infrastructure (Electrical Substations and Transmission Lines)
  • Industrial electrical (Water/Wastewater, Data Centers)
Essential Responsibilities
  • Provides pre‑sales technical support to customers and the NEI outside sales team
  • Acts as a liaison between client services and relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Reviews customer specifications and assists in formulating and communicating commercial strategy
  • Reviews and manages incoming Requests for Proposals (RFPs): defines technical requirements, identifies internal resources, manages the proposal process, writes custom proposals, and issues quotes
  • Works with Subject Matter Experts to establish proposal pricing; provides timely responses to technical, application, and commercial questions
  • Provides engineering and technical support to the business development and project services team
  • Develops and maintains outstanding company‑client relationships
  • Maintains high ethical and professional standards
  • Attends conferences, training workshops, seminars, and required courses for advancement and quality of work
  • Attends safety training and adheres to all safety rules and guidelines
  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned
Must Have
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a similar accredited field
  • Experience:

    1+ years of relevant engineering or field experience
  • Understanding and application of applicable engineering Codes and Standards
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Project
  • Basic understanding of electrical and civil engineering with emphasis on renewable energy, electrical substations, transmission lines, and industrial infrastructure
  • Effective verbal and written communication with customers and internal personnel; strong intrapersonal skills
  • Self‑motivated, well‑organized, and a skilled decision maker comfortable in a fast‑paced design environment
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills
  • Commercial understanding of the engineering or construction industries
  • Strong written and verbal command of the English language
  • Current authorization to work in the United States on a full‑time basis
Working Conditions

Work Environment:
Office setting with possible field work.

Travel:
Typical 0 – 15%.
