Fact Set's Deep Sector Oil & Gas team delivers critical market research and sector-specific data products to a diverse client base including energy analysts, investment banks, private equity firms, oil and gas producers, and midstream companies. We drive innovation and shape market-relevant analytics for current and future energy challenges, centered on the highest standards of customized solutions and insightful data products.

What

You'll Do

As Senior Manager, you will serve as the leader and public face of our market intelligence offerings focusing on crude oil, refined products, and natural gas liquids (NGL). You will direct and contribute to timely, insightful monthly reports that illuminate both global and North American markets as well as broader developments in the midstream and downstream sectors. Our research provides actionable insights on supply/demand fundamentals, trade flows, infrastructure projects, refining/processing economics, hedging activity, geopolitical developments, and their impact on prices.

In this role, you will inspire and develop a team of market analysts and data scientists, guiding their professional growth and ensuring the delivery of rigorous, data-driven market insights. You will also drive the evolution of our data and analytics products and act as a trusted advisor to clients.

Success in this position requires advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and hands-on experience with SQL and Python for data interrogation, modeling, and forecasting. You bring a passion for uncovering market insights in complex, data-rich environments, complemented by exceptional communication skills and the leadership required to elevate both our team and our products.

Responsibilities
  • Directly oversee and contribute to the production of monthly market reports, ensuring accuracy, analytical rigor, and timely delivery of all insights.
  • Develop, refine, and maintain forecasting models, supply/demand balances, and price outlooks for crude oil, refined products, and NGLs.
  • Mentor, inspire, and support the professional growth of market analysts and data scientists, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
  • Serve as the primary spokesperson and subject matter expert for oil and NGL markets, delivering market briefings and in-depth presentations to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Enforce best practices in data analysis and modeling.
  • Engage directly with clients to understand their challenges and answer questions.
  • Lead the development and rollout of new data and analytics products that differentiate our offering in the marketplace.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Finance, or related field.
  • 6+ years of crude oil, refined product, or NGL market analysis experience, ideally within industry or at an established consulting firm specializing in energy.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using Python and SQL for data analysis and modeling (PowerBI and/or GIS experience a plus).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience contributing to research reports or technical publications.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or at any time in the future.
