Coding Auditor Educator

• Conduct internal and external audits on documentation, coding, and billing practices
• Develop and deliver training programs to address deficiencies identified in audits
• Validate compliance with ICD-CM, ICD-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS Level II coding systems
• Monitor inpatient case mix reports and identify trends in assigned DRGs/APCs
• Provide guidance and support to healthcare professionals on coding guidelines and practices

• High school diploma / GED
• Certification from American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) or American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA)
• AHIMA Credentials:
  Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
• AAPC Credentials:
  Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), or Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA)
• Minimum of 5 years of hospital or physician coding and/or auditing experience

• Associate's Degree
• 3 years of experience in claims processing and data management
• Strong background in auditing and education/training in coding and reimbursement methodologies
