As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design, build, and modify data pipelines for analytics use, focusing on enterprise data architecture best practices. You will create real‑time data ingestion, storage, and analytics solutions that support complex workflows, global metrics, and our digital strategy.

• Maintain, improve, and build data pipelines that enhance reporting and analytics products for business decision making.
• Work hand‑in‑hand with business stakeholders, analysts, and partners to deliver dashboarding, automated reporting, and updates that support Terumo’s global digital strategy.
• Use state‑of‑the‑art tools to enable full cloud optimization, seamless elasticity, and end‑to‑end automation, prioritizing performance and architecture.
• Make modifications and updates to existing data pipelines as necessary.
• Implement automated data pipeline and transformation capabilities using cloud‑native ETL tools.
• Critically review current and future data structures for simplicity, performance, and scalability.
• Implement and extend monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure pipeline reliability and rapid issue resolution.
• Serve as a tech evangelist, fostering a data‑driven and technology‑savvy culture across the business.
• Participate in SAAS technology evaluations and collaborate with other business areas on technology strategy with an enterprise mindset.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics or a related field;
Master’s preferred. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Python, Java, C++, Scala, or similar object‑oriented programming languages and software automation/CI/CD tools.
• Experience with Tableau, R Shiny, Microsoft BI, or modern data visualization technologies.

• Ability to transform data using modern cloud‑native ETL/ELT tools.
• Design solutions that scale globally.
• Experience with HR or people data systems, or secure, role‑based access and data privacy across systems.
• Build and maintain automations using APIs, SFTP file transfers, event‑based triggers, and pipeline schedules.
• Familiarity with cloud native technologies such as Microsoft Azure or AWS and building data systems on the cloud.
• Familiarity with data validation and integrity controls.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Exposure to or experience with Alteryx Server is a plus.
• Exposure to or experience with Lean Six Sigma preferred.
