Eligibility
- Position is open only to Colorado state residents.
- Open to current students or recent graduates (graduates within the last 3 years, June 2023–Present).
Non‑employee internship; unpaid; no benefits. Minimum 8 hours per week. Duration: 2.5 months minimum with potential for extension. Hybrid work style; required to report to the listed address as needed.
Responsibilities- Create a fully functional Tableau dashboard for internal use, including interactive charts, filters, and summary metrics.
- Document and outline data sources, workflow processes, dashboard functionality, and instructions for future maintenance or enhancements.
- Prepare and deliver a final presentation or demonstration of the dashboard and key findings.
Support the development of an internal data dashboard as part of a capstone‑style analytics project. Work with organizational data using R for data cleaning, analysis, and preparation, and use Tableau to design and build interactive dashboards for internal stakeholders.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s student in epidemiology, biostatistics, statistics, public health, or a related discipline; currently enrolled.
- OR recently graduated (within three calendar years, June 2023 – Present) with such a degree.
- Official or unofficial transcripts that show the degree conferred; foreign‑credentialed transcripts must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.
- Experience analyzing, summarizing, and interpreting data.
- Experience in data visualization.
- Intermediate experience with R.
- Experience with Tableau or other data‑visualization software.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- A pre‑employment background check will be conducted.
- Signed Non‑Employee Confidentiality Agreement is required.
- If using the internship for academic credit, a signed Affiliation Agreement between CDPHE and your university is required.
- Hybrid workplace options; may be required to report to office as needed.
- Completed State of Colorado application.

- Transcripts (or diploma); transcripts attached to your Colorado.gov/jobs application.
- DD‑214 (if veteran).
