This position is term limited with an anticipated end date of approximately two (2) years from the date of hire. It is eligible for State employee benefits and may be extended as the situation warrants.
ResponsibilitiesAs our new Network and Voice Administrator II you will:
- Diagnose and appropriately handle voice network outages, identifying and correcting issues or escalating with the service provider when necessary.
- Support the testing, administration, and implementation of VoIP network solutions and possess technical knowledge of key VoIP technologies such as Network Management, Voice over IP (VoIP), Video, and security.
- Adhere to and maintain the department‑wide Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) standards, configurations, dial plan, and quality‑of‑service (QoS) design.
- Support voice/video/data network projects.
- Support legacy voice systems and legacy IFB, T‑1’s, DS3, etc., and program voice systems.
- Assist in the evaluation and approval of software tools, hardware, and services used in the delivery of voice and video conferencing services.
- Assist leadership and senior voice administrators in planning for funding to maintain and upgrade network infrastructure, replace end‑of‑life equipment, support future growth, and advance new technologies.
- Support the development and implementation of advanced VoIP services, including emergency call announcement and routing, call center phone systems, hotlines, and video conferencing.
- Lead projects for new and replacement existing phone systems.
A wide salary range is posted for this position and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Salary offers are typically within the posted range but may be above or below based on the analysis.
Minimum Qualifications- A minimum of three (3) years of professional experience as a dedicated Network Voice provider in a managed service or medium to large‑size professional environment.

Additional appropriate education may substitute for the required experience on a year‑for‑year basis, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications. Training or certification related to the work may also count toward substitution but cannot completely replace the required experience. If a degree is required, additional paid or unpaid experience may substitute for education on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Relevant years of State Service in a position with similar duties.
- Experience in copper cabling (25‑pair and CAT‑6).
- Three years of professional work experience in IT network operations and support, including:
Voice Over IP (VoIP) system administration and voice system programming; conferencing systems;
Quality of Service (QoS); dial plan design and administration; one or more years of professional experience in Cisco router and switch configuration; demonstrated excellence in customer service skills;
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher;
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) related to Network/Wireless technologies; demonstrated experience using project management methodology.
- Compliance with state agency screening procedures at work locations.
