Functions
- Sets strategy for the Information Technology department. Consults with management to analyze system needs for management information and functional operations, to determine scope and priorities of projects, and to discuss system capacity and equipment acquisitions.
- Recommends and develops plans for systems development, hardware and software purchases, budget, and staffing. Manages the development, implementation, installation, and operation of information and functional systems for the organization. Manages and coordinates information and technology resources to optimize performance, security, and cost.
- Oversees the daily operations of the Information Technology Department. Directs, mentors and monitors tasks and projects of team members, provides training, sets schedules, ensures policies and procedures are followed, and deadlines are met. Reports progress towards goal achievement to management. Makes suggestions to improve operations and procedures. Implements changes in operations, policies, and procedures as directed. Understands duties and functions of direct reports.
- Participates in project management process to ensure organizational projects are managed effectively. Assists in the organizational oversight, transparency, accountability, and successful completion of projects.
- Oversees the security and maintains the confidentiality of the Credit Union's systems, data, networks and infrastructure. Develops, maintains, tests, and monitors the Credit Union's disaster recovery plans, security programs, standards, guidelines and procedures. Develops, maintains, and tests disaster recovery plans. Develops strategy overseeing compliance requirements and ensuring accountability of assigned tasks.

- Requires at least five to ten years of similar or related experience.
- (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
