Summary
As a Database Administrator, you will serve as an IT Specialist for any number of major financial management systems: policy, planning, quality assurance, design or development projects, or studies having agency-wide and Government-wide impact.

Duties- Serve as an IT Specialist (Database Administrator) responsible for administering, maintaining, monitoring, and supporting mission-critical database and data-management environments for financial systems including database object management, account and access support, refresh and replication support, database availability, integrity, and performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational validation.
- Manage and support system changes affecting database environments and related financial systems.
- Review tests, validate, document, and implement database changes, software releases, patches, configuration changes, scripts, migrations, account-management changes, and weekend or after-hours maintenance activities in accordance with agency, organizational, security, and change-management standards.
- Perform systems analysis, technical research, requirements review, design and development support, testing, validation, and implementation support for major financial management system initiatives, modernization efforts, and technical projects.
- Support security compliance, audit readiness, vulnerability remediation, internal controls, and risk management activities for database environments and related systems. Generate and validate audit evidence, database reports, technical documentation, and corrective-action support materials needed to demonstrate compliance with applicable cybersecurity, privacy, and data-handling requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and improve standard operating procedures, checklists, technical notes, user or administrator guidance, training materials, and knowledge-transfer documentation that support database administration, operational consistency, audit readiness, onboarding, and continuity of service.
- Provide technical advice, assistance, and responsive customer support to vendors, contractors, system owners, functional teams, and other stakeholders.
- US Citizenship or National (Residents of American Samoa and Swains Island)
- Meet all eligibility criteria within 30 days of the closing date
- Meet time-in-grade within 30 days of the closing date, if applicable
- Register with Selective Service if you are a male born after 12/31/1959
- Current or Former Political Appointees:
The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C or Non Career SES employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the HR Office. Failure to disclose this information could result in disciplinary action including removal from Federal Service. - Serve a one year probationary period, if required.
- Undergo and pass a background investigation (Tier 2 investigation level).
- Have your identity and work status eligibility verified if you are not a GSA employee. We will use the Department of Homeland Security’s e-Verify system for this. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of continued employment.
