Systems Administrator III

• Lead operating system installation, configuration, monitoring, and support for VMware, Storage, and appliance-based systems
• Provide expert-level end-user support during core hours and rotational on-call support after core hours and on weekends
• Lead hardware and software change management procedures, collaborating with the Change Advisory Board as necessary
• Oversee troubleshooting and coordination of computer hardware repairs with vendors
• Analyze new server hardware and software requirements, propose changes and upgrades, and devise and test deployment strategies
• Harden servers to established security baselines, maintain patch levels, conduct compliance audits, and support Cyber Security Specialists during incident responses
• Manage maintenance tasks and maintain inventory records for servers, related equipment, and software
• Develop and maintain standard procedures for routine and recurring activities
• Lead backup and restore support, monitor backup environment health, conduct annual restore tests, and troubleshoot failed backups including database backup and restore
• Assist end-users during escalated incidents and coordinate vendor hardware and software upgrades and patches

• U.S. Citizen
• Must be able to pass federal background investigation and obtain a Public Trust (Tier
  4)
• Extensive experience in a multi-platform computer center environment
• Proficiency with VCenter, SAN Management, and iLO/iDRAC
• Ability to quickly acquire, comprehend, and apply knowledge from technical manuals and SOPs
• Expertise with VXRail, vSAN, Windows, Red Hat Linux, VMware, Microsoft Azure, HPE servers, Splunk or Solar Winds Orion, Data Domain backup appliances, Veritas Net Backup, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Azure Active Directory, Ping Identity, Core street HID appliances, OCSP authentication, RSA SecurID, ADFS, Microsoft Certificate Server, and Microsoft KMS
• Knowledge of LDAP, DHCP, and DNS
• Proficiency in Perl, Power Shell, Windows scripting, and standard shell scripts
• Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, and kneel to move equipment and set up workstations
• Must present acceptable identification for customer badging and site access, such as a REAL
  -compliant driver's license, U.S. Passport, or other approved GSA document

Demonstrates expertise in operating system installation, configuration, and support, with a strong focus on VMware and multi-platform environments. Proficient in managing hardware and software change management, compliance audits, and end-user support while ensuring security and operational efficiency.
