Position Overview
You will support attorneys and Of Counsel in preparing affirmative and defensive immigration filings, with an emphasis on asylum and removal proceedings. This position requires advanced familiarity with EOIR practice, high-volume documentation management, and drafting under close legal supervision.
This is not an entry-level role. We are seeking someone who understands the stakes and standards of Immigration Court practice.
Core Responsibilities- Draft and assemble Form I-589 applications and supporting declarations
- Prepare filings before the Immigration Court (EOIR) and USCIS
- Manage deadlines, master calendar hearings, and individual hearing preparation
- Organize and paginate exhibits in accordance with Immigration Court Practice Manual requirements
- Coordinate case strategy meetings with attorneys and Of Counsel
- Conduct country conditions research and prepare evidentiary packets
- Prepare clients for biometrics, interviews, and hearings
- Maintain strict quality control and file integrity standards
- Communicate professionally with clients, court staff, and government agencies
- Minimum 3 years of immigration paralegal experience
- Direct experience with asylum and removal defense cases
- Strong command of EOIR filing protocols and Practice Manual
- Exceptional organizational and case management skills
- Ability to manage multiple active litigation files simultaneously
- High attention to detail and deadline sensitivity
- Professional discretion and strong client communication skills
- Experience working with former Immigration Judges or senior litigators
- Familiarity with complex relief: VAWA, U Visa, T Visa, Cancellation of Removal
- Bilingual (Spanish strongly preferred)
