As part of our continued expansion, we are establishing a dedicated Construction & Expansion Project Manager (PM) role within the PMO to support the build‑out and development of manufacturing facilities worldwide.
The Construction & Expansion Project Manager (PM) is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering global manufacturing facility construction, expansions, and retrofits to support hyperscaler rack production. This role partners closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Facilities, IT, EHS, Security, and Finance to ensure factories are delivered on time, within budget, and production ready to meet aggressive customer demand.
The PM leads projects from site selection and design through build‑out, equipment installation, and production ramp, with a strong focus on scalability, standardization, and hyperscaler compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end construction, expansion, and retrofit projects for global manufacturing sites (greenfield, brownfield, and upgrades)
- Oversee building design and construction including shell, MEP systems, utilities, clean power, compressed air, and material flow layouts
- Ensure facilities are scalable and optimized for high‑mix, high‑volume rack manufacturing
- Ensure compliance with all local codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Conduct site reviews, audits, and progress tracking; lead construction meetings and issue resolution
- Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to align facility design with production requirements (assembly lines, testing, burn‑in, pack‑out, logistics)
- Coordinate installation, commissioning, and validation of production equipment and tooling
- Drive factory readiness milestones aligned to customer ramps and contractual commitments
- Lead final handoff to Operations including as‑builts, SOPs, and production readiness validation
- Serve as the single‑threaded owner for construction and expansion programs
- Act as the primary interface between internal stakeholders and external vendors
- Lead cross‑functional coordination across Facilities, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, IT/OT, Security, EHS, and Finance
- Provide executive‑level reporting including schedules, dashboards, risks, and mitigation plans
- Select, contract, and manage architects, general contractors, and specialty trades
- Drive vendor accountability for cost, schedule, quality, and safety performance
- Negotiate contracts, manage change orders, and mitigate scope creep
- Ensure all partners meet hyperscale standards and audit requirements
- Develop and manage capital budgets and multi‑year expansion roadmaps
- Own master schedules, including critical path and dependency management
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks proactively across all project phases
- Lead project closeout, ensuring all contractual and documentation requirements are met
- Conduct post‑project reviews and integrate lessons learned into standardized playbooks
- Ensure facilities meet hyperscaler, customer, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Manage permitting, approvals, inspections, and audit readiness
- Support safety, security, and operational compliance audits
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (25–50%) to support project sites
Contribute to development of construction PM best practices and standards
Maintain strong stakeholder alignment and foster a proactive, solution‑oriented project culture
Requirements- 7–12+ years of experience in construction, facilities, or expansion project management
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
- Proven experience delivering large‑scale capital projects ($5M–$100M+), preferably in manufacturing, industrial, or data center environments
