Engineer I – Manufacturing & Process Improvement

EssentialDuties
- Support evaluation and improvement of manufacturing processes, including assembly and related production operations.
- Assist with data collection, analysis, and documentation for process development, improvement, and change control activities.
- Support manufacturing trials, process studies, and validation-related activities under supervision.
- Apply Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality system requirements in daily engineering tasks.
- Assist with investigation of manufacturing issues through data gathering, preliminary root cause analysis, and documentation.
- Follow established engineering procedures, work instructions, and safe working practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with site goals for cost, quality, delivery, safety, and employee engagement.
- Apply foundational Lean and OpEx tools such as:
- 5S
- Standard Work
- Visual Management
- Basic time studies and performance metrics
- Value Stream Map
- Participate in Kaizen events, improvement workshops, and structured problem-solving activities.
- Assist in maintaining Daily Management systems, visual boards, and performance indicators.
- Learn and apply basic problem‑solving methodologies such as PDCA and root cause analysis.
- Use approved digital tools, analytics platforms, and AI‑enabled applications to support engineering and continuous improvement activities.
- Apply AI prompt engineering fundamentals to:
- Generate structured analyses, summaries, and reports from manufacturing data
- Support problem‑solving, root cause analysis, and improvement idea generation
- Assist with documentation drafts, standard work creation, and training material development
- Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure AI‑generated outputs are validated, accurate, and compliant with quality and regulatory requirements.
- Follow internal guidelines for responsible, secure, and compliant use of AI tools in a regulated environment.
- Work collaboratively with manufacturing, quality, engineering, and operations teams.
- Communicate findings, progress, and issues clearly to peers and supervisors.
- Receive technical mentoring and coaching from senior engineers and OpEx leaders.
- Actively develop skills in manufacturing engineering, continuous improvement, data analysis, and responsible AI usage.
- Support a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, and safety.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
- 0–3 years of experience in manufacturing, process, industrial, or quality engineering.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and production environments.
- Foundational knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement principles.
- Ability to collect, organize, and interpret manufacturing data.
- Introductory understanding of AI tools and prompt engineering concepts, with a willingness to learn best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross‑functional teams.
- Proficiency with standard PC software (e.g., Excel, Word, data analysis tools).

TravelSome domestic and international traveling will be required, approximately 10–15 %.
Physical Requirements- Use of personal protective equipment; reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching/reaching, hand/finger dexterity, occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, or transporting up to 500 pounds via carts or mechanized equipment.

Target Pay Range: $70,100.00 to $87,600.00 – Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
Target Bonus on Base7.0 %
