Position ProfileOn‑call RNs at Bloom hospice are responsible for providing and coordinating hospice care for our patients and families during after‑hours. They deliver care and collaborate with the interdisciplinary hospice team to meet patients' physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. On‑call RNs educate patients and families about the disease process, manage and control symptoms, and provide support during difficult times. Care delivery primarily takes place in the patient's home or community.
HospiceOn Call RN Responsibilities
- Provide hospice patient care after‑hours as needs arise.
- Conduct effective pain/symptom assessment and management.
- Provide effective patient/family/caregiver teaching.
- Manage end‑of‑life ethical issues effectively.
- Create timely and accurate documentation.
- Utilize resources efficiently.
- Adhere to scope of practice and continuously improve processes and services.
- Maintain and enhance professional skills.
- Adhere to high standards of personal and professional conduct.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current CO RN licensure in good standing.
- Minimum one year of recent experience in medical, surgical, or critical care as a professional nurse.
- Strong clinical assessment skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Solution‑driven, creative, and resourceful problem‑solving skills.
- Proficient computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous hospice or oncology experience.
- Knowledge of the death/dying and bereavement process.
- CHPN certification.

The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience. The pay range in Colorado typically falls between $75,000 – $100,000 annually, with potential for performance‑based bonuses and other benefits.
