Adjunct​/Affiliate Faculty - Pediatric Nursing - College of Adult and Graduate Studies

About the Job

The Pediatric Nursing Affiliate Faculty teach nursing students in the specialty of Pediatric nursing. The Pediatric Affiliate coordinates and collaborates with lead course faculty to teach, supervise and evaluate students in simulation and practice settings by providing excellence in instruction a clinical judgement, critical thinking and clinical reasoning. The Pediatric Affiliate may serve in the role of Teaching Assistant in the classroom setting.

Affiliate faculty are hired on a course by course basis as needed. This position does not have rank or benefits.

Fully on-site - must reside and work legally in the U.S. Regular work location:
Lakewood, Colorado

• An active unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Colorado.
• Documented two years of experience in the area of instruction.
• A minimum of an MSN degree in nursing from a Nursing Education Program with national nursing accreditation.
• Must have strong pharmacology and general treatment knowledge and skills. Must be able to interpret patient information as necessary to assist students in the decision-making process.
• Must be able to engage with students in clinical situations and lead clinical conferences have strong written and oral communication skills as evidenced by teaching evaluations.
• Must be knowledgeable and proficient in APA 7th edition and in academic writing.

While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to walk; stand; sit; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; speak with clarity, have appropriate vision and hearing capabilities. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. You may be required to work occasional irregular hours, including some nights and weekends.

Affiliate Faculty pay is $1,200 - $1,800 per class for undergraduate classes. Graduate level classes are paid at $1,000 per credit hour. If the University decides the course will be delivered, total payment will be for seven (7) or more students. Classes with 3 - 6 students will be paid a total payment of 6/7th of a contract and classes with one or two students will be paid $300 per student.
