7th Floor Med/Surg Unit Description
The 7th Floor Medical Surgical department hony Hospital is a medical surgical unit where we primarily treat septic patients. Our department has 36 beds, and we see a range of surgical patients, ETOH withdrawal, cellulitis and treat many chronic conditions such as COPD and CHF. We have a great culture focused on teamwork and positivity. Our nurse communication scores have been some of the highest in the hospital.
We are an innovative unit, often where hospital-wide projects begin.
We are looking for dynamic, hard‑working people who are interested in a strong medical surgical floor and who share our department’s mission. Candidates must have a positive attitude, open communication skills, be hard‑working, dedicated, and accountable.
As an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) you will be responsible for developing, achieving, and maintaining the goals of a unit or department by focusing on the unit or department’s daily operations. Essential functions to the success of this role include:
- Consistently promote a positive & healthy work environment by being visible and available to all levels of staff and customers.
- Collaboratively work with nurse leaders to maintain productivity, support initiatives, and ensure units/departments are appropriately staffed.
- Assist in identifying staff development needs with an emphasis on evidence‑based practice and education.
- Manage daily productivity and expenses and support the unit/department manager with budget preparation.
- Focus on patient safety, patient experience, and performance improvement in alignment with unit/department goals.
- Encourage employee participation in decision‑making through shared governance and support change management.
- Support professional development to improve employee retention.
In addition to bringing human kindness to the workplace each day, qualified Assistant Nurse Manager candidates will need the following:
- 2 years clinical RN experience
- 6 months – 1 year clinical leadership experience (preferred)
- A degree in nursing (BSN or MSN)
- Current RN License to practice in the state of employment
- Nursing Specialty Certification:
- Required to sit for certification within 6 months of hire/transfer
- Must achieve certification within 2 years of hire/transfer into this role
Physical Requirements – Medium Work – (Exert up to 50 lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs constantly)
Where You'll WorkLocated in Lakewood, Colorado, St. Anthony Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center that provides a full range of medical specialties and health care services to Denver and the surrounding region through a state‑of‑the‑art medical campus and a home base for Flight For Life Colorado. With four trauma rooms, including the T‑10 room, and a dedicated field‑to‑surgery suite ready 24/7 for trauma surgeons and specially trained teams, our staff can provide life‑saving care to the most severely ill and injured patients.
