Overview

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Advanced Practice Practitioner in Lakewood.

We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated Advanced Practice Provider (APP)-Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our extremely busy oncology clinic. In this role, you will provide comprehensive care to patients undergoing cancer treatment, working closely with oncologists, nurses, and the care team to deliver timely, high‑quality, patient‑centered care.

This environment is fast‑paced and high‑acuity, requiring strong clinical judgment, excellent communication, and the ability to efficiently manage a full and dynamic schedule.

This position offers a $20,000 sign‑on bonus.

Salary Range: $110,000 – $150,000. Pay is based on several factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, certification, etc. RMCC offers the following benefits for this position, subject to eligibility requirements:

A wide salary range is posted for this position and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, and certifications as compared to others doing substantially similar work. While all offers are compliant with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, there is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.

Responsibilities
  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients.
  • Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated.
  • Performs procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.
  • Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
  • Often incorporates evidence‑based research into clinical practice.
  • Solid knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
  • Likely to provide case management for patients and their families.
  • Sometimes serves as a resource for nursing staff by providing information being studied in clinical trials.
  • May provide palliative care for the patient and their families as needed.
Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Nurse Practitioner:
    Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner, preferably in the chosen specialty. RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state. Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner. AOCNP preferred.

    Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
  • Physician Assistant:
    Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Current NCCPA certification. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing Physician Assistant, preferably in the chosen specialty. Current state license as a Physician Assistant in the practicing state. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
  • Clinical Nurse Specialist (optional):
    Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Clinical Nurse Specialist program. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing Clinical Nurse Specialist, preferably in the chosen specialty. RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state. Current state licensure as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.

    AOCNS preferred (if applicable). Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.

Physical demands:
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, standing and walking for extensive periods, lifting items up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Work environment:
Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment.

All qualified candidates are required to pass a background check and a non‑federal drug test (excluding marijuana) post‑offer of employment and prior to hire.
