Quality Manager, Assembly Division
Job Summary:
Manage customer concerns associated with their completed circuit board assemblies, assessing the validity of those concerns and managing resolution to orders that are returned for valid quality issues. Provide training to production floor personnel according to IPC-610 and J-STD-001 quality standards. Identify opportunities for improvement to the existing quality system.
Job Responsibilities:
- Correspond with customers regarding quality concerns they have with their completed circuit board assemblies.
- Assess the validity of customer concerns using IPC-610 and J-STD-001 quality standards for circuit board assemblies.
- Create internal build documents to remedy quality escapes on customer orders approved for return.
- Manage approved quality returns on the production floor, coordinating with the Production Manager and Director of Operations to bring a swift resolution to returned orders.
- Maintain a log of all open quality issues and the current disposition of those open issues.
- Address quality escapes with all involved production personnel, instructing them on current IPC-610 standards and steps they can take to prevent similar escapes in the future.
- Make recommendations to improve the current quality system to further minimize future quality escapes to customers.
Qualifications:
- Understanding of IPC-610 and J-STD-001 quality standards for circuit board assemblies (Certification to these standards is a plus but not required)
- Experience as a quality inspector or quality manager in a CEM operation.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies.
- Demonstrates a commanding knowledge of the circuit board assembly process.
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Strong customer service skills.
Education:
- B.Sc. Degree in engineering is preferred but not required if relevant experience can be demonstrated
